TOTALLY-TANDEMS provide customers with high quality fully equipped tandem bicycles to hire that are suitable for the task in hand. If you are looking to ride a tandem for the first time in a traffic free environment then a day hire tandem is an ideal place to start. Alternatively if you would like to try a multi day tandem tour then a fully equipped Thorn touring tandem or a compact Circe Helios tandem will cope comfortably.
Our Tandems
We operate a large hire fleet of Thorn touring tandems and Circe Helios compact tandems. Both companies provide (in our opinion) best in class tandems. The Thorn tandems are rock solid, reliable and capable of covering huge distances each day fully loaded. The Circe Helios are lighter weight, compact in design and fully adjustable for differing height riders and therefore are just about as practical as a tandem can be. What you ride will depend on the type of trip you are planning to undertake - don't worry we will guide you through all the choices.

Why hire?
Tandem bicycles are expensive to buy, equip and maintain as well as taking up a lot of garage space. Most tandem owners use their tandem for a maximum of 2 weeks in total each year and due to this low level of use many buy one of the 'cheap' tandem brands which are awful to ride and are often dangerous (especially in the braking department)
We only hire out quality tandems that are suitable for the ride you are planning. As an example our touring / expedition tandems are equipped with essential touring spec equipment such as Uprated Braking, Heavy Duty Wheels, Low Gear Ratios, Heavy Duty Pannier Racks, Multiple Water Bottle Holders, Full Mudguards etc etc. In addition we can provide a full set of waterproof panniers, tent, sleep mats and stove so all you have to do is bring a sleeping bag and clothes and pedal away on holiday!
